Nielba Turin
was born in Curitiba, Brazil. An entire life dedicated to education,
she has been considered one of the most prominent educators on
Creativity, Semiotics (Charles Sanders Peirce), Theory of Communication
and Information, and Cognitive Sciences of Brazil. With many
published papers she was responsible for the introduction of
the discipline of Semiotics in the South American faculties of
architecture and urbanism in the 70s. Like the poet and writer
Paulo Leminsky, she formed several of the most recognised Brazilian
artists, poets, musicians, architects and designers of the new
